Who it's for
Free, educational home assessment: a trained staff member reviews how vulnerable the home and landscape are to wildfire and ember ignition, covering defensible space and home hardening, in about 30 to 45 minutes. Results are confidential. Applications are open to residents inside the Fire Safe Council's 2026 priority area shown on the program map; service areas change every year. The council's homepage lists Crest, Bonita, Spring Valley, Fallbrook and east Chula Vista for this year. Participants receive recommendations, educational resources and program referrals. Completing this assessment is the first step for the council's Defensible Space Assistance Program.
