The 12 measures, and who does the work

California regulation defines 12 wildfire mitigation measures. The CA FAIR Plan mirrors them in its hardening discount schedule, and admitted carriers recognize them too. Completing a measure may qualify you for a discount on the wildfire portion of your policy.

The FAIR Plan maximum is 16.4% off the wildfire portion of a Dwelling Fire policy for all 12 measures combined. Your own carrier sets the actual number, so check the FAIR Plan schedule and ask your carrier before you budget around any figure.
