How the badges work
Your tier is computed, never sold. It comes from whether the profile is claimed, whether your CA contractor license is active, whether we have insurance on file, and what credentials you have on record. "Verified" means we confirmed an active license and insurance. It does not mean we inspected your work.
Sponsored placement is a separate thing. It buys one extra labelled appearance at the top of a category in a ZIP, capped at three slots, and you still appear in the organic list in your earned position. It never changes a tier, a badge, or another business's ranking.
